VW T-Roc
New car sales in Greece drop -8.9% year-on-year in April to 9,289 units, leading to a year-to-date volume off -5.7% to 31,716. Toyota (+0.2%) goes against the negative trend to cement its leadership in the brands charts with 13.7% share vs. 14.7% YTD. Volkswagen (+49.8%) posts a rare uptick as opposed to most of the other European markets this month and gains two spots on March to land at #2 overall. It knocks Peugeot (-37.4%) and Hyundai (-44.5%) down to #3 and #4 respectively. Kia (+42%) is also in tremendous shape at #5, distancing Mercedes (+7.7%) also in positive. Nissan (+6.5%) sports the only remaining uptick in the Top 10 with Opel (-25.8%) hit the hardest. Jeep (+59%) and Renault (+38.1%) are the only additional gainers in the Top 20 while below, Cupra (+1633.3%), Mitsubishi (+400%), Mazda (+287.5%) and Subaru (+266.7%) all post surreal lifts.
Over in the models ranking, the Toyota Yaris (-20.6%) returns to its traditional pole position despite a steep fall, distancing the Citroen C3 (+2.4%) and Toyota C-HR (+44.8%), the latter accessing to the 2nd place year-to-date in the process. The Kia Stonic (+11.2%) is up 8 spots on last month to #4, the Peugeot 3008 (+87.3%) is up 20 to #5 and the VW T-Roc (+114.1%) up 5 to #6. The VW T-Cross (+106.1%) and Toyota Corolla (+20%) also shine in the remainder of the Top 10. Further down, the Kia Xceed (+404.8%), Opel Mokka (+279.3%), Nissan Micra (+192.3%) and Mercedes GLA (+181.3%) make themselves noticed in the Top 30. The Toyota Yaris Cross (#21) is the best-selling recent launch above the Hyundai Bayon (#59), VW Taigo (#60) and Renault Arkana (#62).
