Marinette County approves funds to support City of Marinette Airboat after reconsideration

Previous thirty day period the Marinette County Board of supervisors accredited contributing $43,900 to the Metropolis of Marinette toward the buy of a new 24 ft lookup and rescue airboat with the caveat that the county be equipped to use the airboat. On the other hand, at yesterday’s County Board conference a movement was introduced forth by Supervisor Allen to rethink motion taken by the County board to transfer the $43,900 to the City of Marinette for obtain of the Airboat. Due to the fact the Metropolis of Marinette has a short while ago allocated $500 per personnel for COVID-19 vaccinations working with ARPA funds when they could have used their ARPA resources to the funding of the airboat rather of asking the County for funding. County Administrator John Lefebvre states, “the City of Marinette bought $1.1 million in ARPA funding.”

Supervisor Ken Keller says, “there is a cause why the town is hunting for participation in the obtaining of the airboat.”

Just after a prolonged discussion, the board voted, and it came in at 14 in favor of the airboat to 13 not in favor.  The envisioned supply day of the airboat is mid-January.
